چکیده

Some of the soft SUSY breaking parameters in hidden sector supergravity model depend on the expectation value of the hidden sector scalar potential, 〈Vh〉, whose tree level value is equal to the tree level cosmological constant. The current practice of calculating soft parameters assumes that 〈Vh〉 = 0. Quantum correction to the cosmological constant can differ from the correction to 〈Vh〉 by an amount of order m3/2M P l/8π. This implies that, for the vanishing cosmological constant, the 〈Vh〉-dependent parts of soft terms can be sizable, and hence the supergravity phenomenology should be accordingly modified.

Cosmological Constant and Supergravity Soft Terms * Typeset Using Revt E X

In supergravity models, the quantum correction to the vacuum energy can be of order M I , if the cutoff is of order the Planck mass M 2 P and Str M2 6= 0. Therefore, the tree level cosmological constant must be nonzero (probably negative). Since the current practice of calculating soft parameters in supergravity models assumes the vanishing tree level cosmological constant, the supergravity cal...

Supersymmetry Breaking with Vanishing F -terms in Supergravity Theories

In conventional supergravity theories, supersymmetry is broken by a non-zero F -term, and the cosmological constant is fine tuned to zero by a constant in the superpotential W . We discuss a class of supergravity theories with vanishing F -terms but 〈W 〉 6 = 0 being generated dynamically. The cosmological constant is assumed to be cancelled by a non-zero D-term. In this scenario the gravity-med...

General Soft Terms from Supergravity including D-terms

We derive general expressions for soft terms in supergravity where D-terms contribute significantly to the supersymmetry breaking. Such D-terms can produce large splitting between scalar and fermionic partners in the spectrum. By requiring that supersymmetry breaking sets the cosmological constant to zero, we the parameterize the soft terms when D-terms dominate over F-terms or are comparable t...

Supergravity, M theory and Cosmology

We discuss some recent attempts to reconcile cosmology with supergravity and M/string theory. First of all, we point out that in extended supergravities the scalar masses are quantized in terms of the cosmological constant in de Sitter vacua: the eigenvalues of the Casimir operator 3m/Λ take integer values. For the current value of the cosmological constant extended supergravities predict ultra...
